Inconceivable!

Hello, mates! Recently I have been looking for a good sports game for my ppc and I figured why not a pool game. Out of all the titles currently available, (yes I tried them all) Virtual Pool Mobile wins hands down.
At first I thought it would be the last on my list since games with 'virtual' in the title usually means sacrificing graphics for a 3D feel. But that is NOT the case here. The graphics are nicely done. You can make out each ball clearly on the table, striped and solids (unlike some games where stripes are hard to see). At first I thought I would prefer the cartoonish graphics of other pool games but after playing this game, the cartoony graphics of other games looked really lame. Whatever though, the graphics is not what sold me so lets get to the game.
And what a game it is. You have career mode and practice modes to play 6 ball, 8 ball, 9 ball and so on. The career mode is a lot of fun, you play other computer opponents to earn your way to a chance to beat the head cheese of the room you are in. At first the players are easy, but things get harder as you go and it really takes a lot of skill to keep yourself in the game (even on easy mode).
But this is all stuff you can read about and isnt what truly sold me. So I will get right down to the heart of what makes this game unbeatable. The winning feature is that you have complete control on how you shoot the cue ball. Massé, lots of english, no english, hit the ball high, low...in fact any way you like. The physics are also top notch, if you are an avid pool player you will be amazed how true the physics are to the real game.
The practice mode is the key to improving your game. You can choose to outline the path of your shot so that you can learn how to hit the ball so that it will go where you want. The company boasts about this game improving your real pool game and for me it really did. The physics plus the complete cue ball control really did the trick.
Overall this is the best sports game I have played on my ppc. I definitely recommend you give it a try if your in the market for such a game. view/post comments(0) |
